[Clinical session research presentation] I wish to present results of a literature search on rural health care needsand resources, internationally and in the US. Internationally rural populations suffer a variety of risks including infectious diseases, malnutrition, and accidents In the US the rural population is becoming more prone to illness, with the population including more of the aged, minorities, and poor. Everywhere on the planet the rural population has fewer resources for health care and fewer practitioners to provide care.
