Evidenced based practice is essential for best practice initiatives for providing current and appropriate care to the clients who are served by advanced practice nurses. Case study presentations assist advanced practice nursing students to improve and build their clinical expertise in developing plans of care for the management of disease among individuals and communities. Health topics related to specific body systems are provided to students weekly. Students are expected to research and be prepared to discuss them in the following week's class. Case studies encompassing aspects of diseases within a specific body system are presented. Students must diagnose and develop plans of care that include diagnostics and treatment plans based on evidenced based research related to the presenting case study. As students gain experience in their clinical practica and classroom case studies they begin to identify best practices for positive outcomes in disease management.
