[Clinical session research presentation] Several factors impact the efficiency of clinical education in baccalaureate nursing programs due to increased student enrolment and limited clinical placements. This issue translates to increased clinical groups and the need for the hiring of a larger number of Clinical Instructors (CIs), some of whom might have little or no teaching experience, presenting a challenge to instructors, students, and faculties. Orientations sessions have always been considered to be enough to prepare these CIs for their role. However, given that many of these CIs have other primary employment, several are unable to attend formal orientation sessions.  The introduction of a Clinical Instructor Resource Binder is one method that could potentially help disseminate consistent and accurate information to CIs. This method was implemented at the Faculty of Nursing, Windsor, where the input of all faculty members and current CIs was sought with regard to identification of the general and specific resources needed to prepare new CIs for their role. This project resulted in the development of a resource binder that contains information related to university and faculty policies and procedures, CIs expected responsibilities, documentation expectations, campus resources for instructors and students, and key curriculum related information. A feedback form was included in each binder in order to allow CIs the opportunity to evaluate its contents and identify additional needs.  This paper intends to present the process of developing this binder and its impact of facilitating clinical learning in our faculty.
