The purpose of the Mississippi Delta Initiative and Model Interventions Project is to provide information on rural West Tennessee counties in addressing local health care needs. The Tennessee State Department of Health collaborated with the University of Tennessee at Martin, Department of Nursing in the development and implementation of community needs assessments. Information will be shared on chronic diseases identified and successful interventions programs used for the management of clients with chronic diseases. Information will also be presented on topics including practice standards, sociocultural factors, and alternative therapies commonly utilized by clients in the rural West Tennessee Delta Region.
