[Leadership Session Presentation] Three distinct paths exist in the pursuit of scholarhsip in nursing: peer review publications, research and serving as a reviewer.  Reviewers are gatekeepers with the editor to protect the clinician and patient from the damaging effects of false information and poor research.  Journal reviewers contribute significantly to the translation of ideas and knowledge into practice.  Being a good reviewer is an honor and privilege in professional practice.  This session explores the history and current practices of nurse reviewers in relation to peer review.  Examples of marginal to outstanding reviews will be provided as well as tools to be a great reviewer.
