[Scientific session research presentation] Methods: The participants in the study are two groups of undergraduate nursing students in Pharmacology, the control group instructed in the traditional classroom style and the experimental group using the web based learning. Engagement theory provided the framework for this study. The author proposes to use open ended questions and the Free Assessment Survey Tool to determine the students' perception towards the different instructional learning methods. The author proposes to use the midterm examination and the final examination score to evaluate the learning outcome of the students. Results: Based on a review of the current literature, the author is expecting a positive perception of web-based learning from undergraduate nursing students. Open ended questions will help identify the specific area of satisfaction or dissatisfaction with web-based learning identified by students. Student responses will be compared with findings in the literature where advantages seem to include accessibility of course resources, time flexibility, convenience and cost. Based on different research study the favorable reply to online course from the midterm and final FAST survey completed by the students can prove that students are able to remain positive till the course completion. On the basis of literature multiple-choice score will help to distinguish the significant difference in web based learning. Conclusion: The author reviewed the literature on the effectiveness of web based learning in comparison with the traditional classroom learning experience of students. According to the literature reviewed the author found web based learning is more effective in nursing students' level of satisfaction and learning outcome. The author proposes to find out if this holds true for this particular demographic group, the study would like to conclude on the basis of review of literature that web based learning is more effective in nursing students in the level of satisfaction and positive learning outcome.
