[Clinical session research presentation] Myanmar is an exotic country located between India and Thailand where the contrasts between awesome golden pagodas and poor rice farms is dramatic. After two medical mission trips to this country, which was formerly known as Burma, I have been able to observe how cultural considerations affect the health care of the people there. This photographic presentation conveys relevant facts about the people of Myanmar. The predominant religious belief (Buddhism) is discussed, along with information about their work, customs, and health habits. Health care concerns are inferred from this information as well as implications for health care promotion in this population.
