The purpose of this pilot study was to assess the validity and reliability of the Hispanic Cultural Health Care Traditions (HCHCT) survey and to evaluate the HCHCT survey and the Bidimensional Acculturation Scale (BAS) for ease of completion and understanding by participants (results presented elsewhere). The pilot study data were also analyzed to identify which cultural health care traditions were used by this sample of women. The relationship between acculturation and use of health care traditions by Hispanic women in caring for their ill children was also explored.
