To contribute to quality care for pregnant women of the town, is proposed to undertake a project funded by the Observatory of Human Resources implemented at the Federal University of Mato Grosso, with the aim of contributing to the qualifications of nursing staff in pre-natal care. Are workshops that deal with the skills to skilled prenatal care. The participants are nurses working in prenatal care offered by public health service. The results show that vocational education contributes effectively to improve the care provided to pregnant women. We recommend continuing education for professionals in the field of nursing, as a strategy that contributes to reducing maternal morbidity and mortality from preventable diseases.
