[Research Paper or Poster Presentation] Nausea and vomiting are the most common disorders that start in the week of pregnancy. Today due to complications of chemical drugs, other treatments are noticed. This study conducted for comparison of acupressure and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) in reducing the nausea and vomiting. In this study 100 primigravida women with nausea and vomiting and gestational age 10-16 weeks were randomly selected and divided in two groups. Age, BMI, job education, severity of nausea was matched in two groups. Treatment with Acupressure and pyridoxine was carried out for four days. In Acupressure group sea bands were placed on Nigan (p6) point on hands/and in pyridoxine group 40 mg B6 tablet consumption every day. Results: nausea score and frequency of vomiting decreased after treatment in two groups. (P = 0/000 ) Also there was a significant difference between two groups about reduction of vomiting frequency. (P = 0/03 ) There was no difference between two groups about reduction of nausea severity. (P = 0/65 ). Conclusion: Acupressure and vitamin B6 has the same effect on nausea but Acupressure more efficient that vitamin B6 incontroling vomiting and sea-bands are economical, free of side effects. KEY WORD: Acupressure, vitamin B6, vomiting.
