Although there are a few conceptual models that have been developed to advance system-wide implementation of evidence-based practice, there is a paucity of evidence to support the relationships in these models. The ARCC model was originally conceptualized in 1999 in order to facilitate the integration of research and clinical practice in the form of evidence-based care within an academic health center and progressive healthcare community. This presentation highlights the development, expansion and refinement of the ARCC model. Preliminary evidence to support relationships in the model were highlighted. Implications for system-wide implementation of evidence-based practice using the model were discussed.
