[Evidence-based Practice Session Presentation] Purpose: The purpose of this systematic review was to investigate the influencing factors on functional recovery for patients with hip fracture. Methods:  The literature was searched in the following online electronic databases: PubMed, Medline, CINAHL, Cochran Library, CEPS, & Image System of Index to Chinese Periodical Literature Published Periodical Guide System. Results: Pre-fracture functional activity is the most important predictor for the elderly with hip fracture. However, age, depression/emotional condition, pre-fracture cognitive status, social support, knowledge, self-efficacy, and the lower extremity measurement three days after surgery were the related factors with functional recovery. Conclusion: The present systematic review showed the following results. First, Pre-fracture functional activity is the most important predictor for the elderly with hip fracture. Second, depression/emotional condition is also a predictor, too. Third, pre-fracture cognitive status is an other predictor, but there still had some different opinions. Forth, network of social support size and the frequency are the predictors.
