21st INRC [Research Presentation] Purpose: Elders with chronic conditions and their families are facing complex care questions and may lack the knowledge of how to deal with their problems. The Internet is a choice for the elders and families to gain information. However, the medical information obtained online may not be the same as the general information. If the information is misinformed, incomplete or poor of quality, negative impacts may result on the users' health. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality of a website providing information for taking care of elders with chronic conditions. Methods: This was a descriptive study. Literature review was conducted to identify constructs that indicate website quality and identify items. The website evaluation tool was designed and tested with its reliability and validity. Health care professionals were asked to use this tool to evaluate the quality of "E-Learning Web for Elders with Chronic Condition." Results: This study is in progress. The evaluation tool has been designed with 58 items and content validity tested. The quality of "E-Learning Web for Elders with Chronic Condition" will be evaluated with content and technique aspects. Conclusion: Information for care of elders with chronic conditions on a web site needs to be examined in order to provide useful information for users of the web pages. Content and technique aspects of a web site need to be considered at the same time.
