[Research Presentation] Purpose: The diabetes mellitus type 2 (DMT2), illness related to environmental factors including population's lifestyles and genetics, represents a problem of public health, since it occupies the first places in the general morbid-mortality in Mexico, including to the state of New Leon.  Purpose.  To understand the relationship among stimuli focal, contextual  about the physiological, adaptation psychosocial and quality of life in patient with DMT2. Methods: The design was descriptive correlation predictable. The sampling was probabilistic, systematic. The sample with 200 participants of both genders from 30 to 65 years, was determined for 95% of confidence and .05 of significance level, with a power of test of  90% for a coefficient of determination of .10. Results: The results showed that years of diagnosis explained the physiologic adaptation F (1,198) = 9.18, p = .003. Effect was observed between complications and psycho-social adaptation F (4,195) = 4.97, p = .001, with a coefficient of determination of 74%. The contextual stimuli influenced in the physiologic and psycho-social adaptation, F (6,193) = 2.89,   p = .010, and F (6, 193) = 2.41, p = .029. Conclusion: This study was possible to interpret the relations arising from the Roy Adaptation Model particularly among stimuli (focal and contextual), and adaptation (physiological and psychosocial) and quality of life in patients with DMT2. The adaptation represents psychosocial modes of self-concept, role function and interdependence same as with the physiological adaptation to Roy are essential if individuals are provided in its entirety.
