[22nd International Nursing Research Congress - Research Presentation] Purpose:   The specific objective of this study include: 1) to identify the influence factors of selecting nursing program between students? and their parents? decisions; 2) to compare the differences between parents and students? opinion about selecting nursing as a career; 3) to identify students? potential career interest. Results: 
Methods:    This research was performed in a five-year nursing college nursing students and their parents opinion of selecting nursing in Northern Taiwan by using action research design with a opened mind questionnaire.
 Results: Result of this study showed that lower grade students need more advice in their career selection particularly from their parents and families.
Conclusion:  In short, this study not only display the relationship between students? and their parents? experiences of selecting nursing, but also provides the nurse leaders and recruiter to develop strategies.
