[22nd International Nursing Research Congress - Evidence-based Practice Presentation] Nurses who provide maternity care in the United States come into contact with couples from a vast array of religious and ethnic cultures. By becoming acquainted with some of their beliefs and cultural rituals, nurses can provide a more meaningful childbirth experience for these patients. This presentation will help familiarize nurses with Orthodox Jewish couples, who abide by many religious and cultural rituals surrounding childbirth and the puerperium.
