21st INRC [Research Presentation] Purpose: The study aimed to explore and examine AKU-SON, K, P contributions and its impact on empowerment of nurses and nursing profession both at individual and professional level. Methods: Both qualitative and quantitative approaches of data collection including survey, Focus group discussions, Key informant interviews and document reviews were used. Data was analyzed by triangulation approach, using NVIVO and SPSS soft-wares. Results: Results indicated that AKUSON, K, P has played a pivotal role in enhancing the legitimacy of nursing as a profession for Muslim women. Nurses at AKUSON felt more empowered as compared to nurses working at other private and government sectors in the country. Conclusion: Nurses and Nursing professional bodies at national level need to be more strengthen and play an active role for achieving empowerment for nurses and nursing profession overall in the country.
