21st INRC [Research Presentation] Purpose: The purposes of this study will test the effects of different music therapy on feeding problems of residents with dementia. Methods: The study design is a quasi-experimental study. Participants will be randomly assigned one of three groups which will listen music during mealtime, listen music before mealtime, and receive active music therapy before mealtime. Results: Research assistants will observe feeding problems of residents with dementia before and after interventions. Conclusion: The study results will be expected to establish the efficacy of music therapy in order to apply music intervention in dementia care and promote their quality of care.
