The purpose of this presentation is to provide guidance in the establishment of an infrastructure for successful operation and completion of a grant once it is funded. This can initially present challenges for researchers who frequently lack training in systems and business principles. The focus will be on the overall processes of hiring and training of key personnel, managing the budget, developing/establishing contracts and site/practice agreements, developing tracking systems, fostering communication and learning, and facilitating data management. Selected examples from ongoing research studies will be used to illustrate the processes.
