Abstract:
Poster presented at AORN's 58th Annual Congress: Clinical Issue: Bone Flap Process Description of Team: Surgeon, anesthesiologist, circulating nurse, and scrub person. Preparation and Planning, Assessment, Implementation and Outcome: We will be presenting the revised Bone Flap Procedure (including clinical process, part of policy, pictures, and practices) in the poster presentation. This will include the process after bone flap removal, prior to placing bone flap in the freezer, length of storage, retrieval from the freezer, and re-implantation, if applicable. Implications of Perioperative Nursing: This will give a much more consistent method of the bone flap process incorporating the new technology and ideal way of this process while not using or paying another facility to process the flap and keeping in to the guideline of not manufacturing implants.
