Abstract presented at AORN's 58th Annual Congress: This program will discuss the basic elements of employment law, including employment at will and its alternatives, wrongful termination claims, whistle blower claims in general, and the impact of whistle blowing claims in the health care environment. What, if anything, changes? How should leadership address with staff? The speaker will answer these questions, and also address the "correct" way to whistle blow, and possible consequences. New developments and recent cases will also be discussed.
