Abstract:
Abstract presented at AORN's 58th Annual Congress: Who is making the decisions about products at your institution? Is the financial analysis the driving force in the approval process? Wish that you had more impact on product and technology decisions? Learn how to have your voice heard as the patient advocate for safety and quality in these important decisions. What exactly is your role, how do you interact with industry particularly related to how your product/device educational needs are met? What role do vendors play in this process? Is evidence base rationale for product purchases a consideration? Get the answers to these and other important questions through the lively discussion lead by two experienced perioperative leaders from one of the top ten hospitals in the nation and a major group purchasing organization representing over 2, 500 acute care hospitals.
