Abstract presented at AORN's 58th Annual Congress: This presentation will describe recent outbreaks and patient notifications in non-hospital settings resulting from lapses in infection control. It will further describe the basic infection control practices that are critical for assuring safe care and recent efforts by state and federal partners to increase infection control oversight in ambulatory surgical centers.
