[NLN Education Summit Paper Presentation] This presentation illustrates how senior students apply theories of nursing, as well as teaching and learning, to carry out a patient teaching project that results in improved health literacy for the patient. Through this senior project, students examined common barriers and boundaries to active involvement of patients in their own health care process. Results of the project are presented; breakthroughs and success stories shared.
