[NLN Education Summit Paper Presentation] This session focuses on the continuing redesign and evolution of a nursing education model that acknowledges the synergy between the QSEN competencies and a competency-based curriculum. Examples of how QSEN competencies and skill elements can be integrated into a competency-based evaluation tool related to a medical-surgical nursing II course are presented. The original essence of the learner-oriented competency outcome model was not altered but rather expanded to include QSEN.
