[NLN Education Summit Poster Presentation] Faculty can improve student retention in prelicensure nursing programs by using change theory as a foundation for retention guidelines. Faculty can construct retention plans using predictable emotional reactions to change as markers and intervene at critical points during the change process to assist students through difficult phases of their course of study.
