[NLN Education Summit Symposium Presentation] Nurse educators engaging in research on teaching/learning strategies are utilizing a variety of methodologies. However, Institutional Review Boards are raising questions about research ethics in educational research. This presentation discusses recent developments in online/Internet research ethics, security problems with online survey tools, privacy issues for student research, human subject issues specific to students; and provides suggestions on obtaining IRB approval.
