Title:
Climbing Mount Everest: What it Takes to Join Continents for Best Practices
Abstract:
(41st Biennial Convention) For nurses to achieve goals that cross continents seems like a enormous task, much like preparing to climb Mount Everest.  However, agreeing on a common vision makes it easier for nurses from different cultures and languages to join together to improve the care patients experience in their countries.  With a clearly defined vision, the work to be done can be fostered and facilitate to build global connections among the nursing community that are focused on delivering EBP at the bedside.  This presentation will emphasize the vision, support and resources necessary to build an sustainable international network of nurses who are focused on achieving quality health outcomes through EBP.  The journey to bring three EBP Summits to fruition will be shared as well as the caveats and lessons learned that accompany such consequential endeavors. Objectives:  Describe the foundational support required for fostering a global network of nurses dedicated to EBP. Discuss strategies for increasing sustainability of a global network of nurses dedicated to EBP.
