Title:
The World-Wide Evidence-Based Practice Agenda: Proof, Power, Prestige and Cash
Abstract:
(41st Biennial Convention) This session explores the unspoken reality in health care- that evidence based practice is not necessarily true or ethical. Creation and application of evidence must be based on nursing's primary ethics as described in the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics.  Ethical as well as unethical use of evidence over the past 30 years will be explored.  Right uses of evidence using the ANA Code of Ethics will be demonstrated by providing practical tools with case study applications.  Tools provided will be resources for nurses from the bedside to the board room designed to prevent moral distress, patient dissatisfaction and inappropriate application of findings to practice.
Keywords:
