Cultural Diversity Experience for Nursing Students: A student exchange between New Delhi, India and Ronne, Denmark
Abstract:
(41st Biennial Convention) Annually the Salokaya College of Nursing (www.salokaya.com) in New Delhi, India and the Bornholms Sundheds- og Sygeplejeskole in Ronne, Denmark (www.bhsund.dk) exchange three or four students for five weeks.  Students in both countries are selected by academic achievements and interest in an exchange.  The students prepare for a language change in advance of experience.  The students identify the complex problems of nursing, nursing care and activities in an advance assigned discipline.  For an example: the chosen area for Danish students is the Delhi State Government hospital and rural Community Health Clinics. This presentation will present the student and faculty observations of 4 students from Bornholms Sundheds- og Sygeplejeskole that completed the exchange program at Salokaya College of Nursing and the 3 students from Salokaya College of Nursing that completed the exchange at Bornholms Sundheds- og Sygeplejeskole.  The presentation will contain photographs and lessons learned from both groups of students and faculty. .
