Title:
Enhancing Patient Safety Through Technology and Collaboration
Abstract:
(41st Biennial Convention) This session will provide an overview of a faculty development collaboration project which promotes faculty training in technology and incorporation of those technologies in the curriculum and clinical practice. This 5 year project includes faculty from a variety of nursing programs including practical nursing programs, associate degree nursing programs, undergraduate nursing programs and graduate nursing programs from six different states. The faculty from the lead university travel to the other sites and provide the faculty participants with intensive training in a variety of technologies including: personal digital assistants / mobile devices, electronic books and resources, simulation using standardized patients, online learning,  simulation using the human patient simulator and other technologies. The activities and future plans for the project will be presented.
