The Eta Eta chapter utilizes multiple communication modalities to communicate with its members.  With members in diverse age groups, it is important to have more than one way to communicate in order to remain a vibrant and successful chapter.  We have a chapter website and a Circle website that are each maintained by a current member.  Beginning in 2011, all chapter documents started being archived on the Circle website.  Additionally, we have a quarterly newsletter that is mailed to all current members with an electronic copy posted on the website.  The chapter also uses Google Blast to make announcements and the monthly email blast, STTI Connect, to communicate chapter news. We have recently moved to utilizing Survey Monkey for conducting elections and member surveys.

The Eta Eta chapter was the recipient of the first Communication Award at the Biennial in 2007.  Our current Chapter President, Karen Dykstra, is serving as Chairperson of the Region 12 Communication Committee with the goal of assisting other chapters to customize their Circle websites. Our Circle website was recognized by STTI in January, 2012, and we were also participants in the Circle contest this past spring. Even with all of our accomplishments, we acknowledge that communication practices used to inform members of chapter activities must be a sustained effort in order to maintain strength and vitality in the organization.
