Abstract:
Session presented on Monday, November 9, 2015: Aligning a model of geriatric care with the system strategic plan and priorities is an expectation for nursing and physician�leaders and provides an opporuntity for ongoing interprofessional partnership and integration of practice education and research. This presentation will focus on how a nurse leader within a five hospital system in partnership with other leaders�was able to influence and advocate for establishment of�a commitment�to expansion of geriatric services at the system level. Discussion of the challenges, innovative strategies and resources needed for development of a geriatric service line will be provided.
